Pathos and my kittens
Today I found an aspect of ENG145 that related to my life at home very well. In class, we are constantly discussing ethos, pathos and logos in relation to class material. I specifically wanted to talk about pathos in this post because it helped me to find people to adopt my kittens. As many know, pathos tend to prey on emotions and a very prominent example of this that is discussed in class would be an ad to adopt an animal. Recently, my cat got pregnant and ended up having six adorable kittens. Although my family loved the kittens, we were not able to keep all of them so my dad put me in charge of giving them to good homes. I had posted my kittens on snapchat with no caption besides a simple heart emoji and in turn I got responses from people that I know asking if they could adopt one. This is where the power of pathos intertwined with my everyday life and is the reason that all of my kittens found good homes. This past weekend, I got to deliver all of the kittens to their forever homes. The kittens are now named Angus, Echo, Finley, Dexter, Lightening, and Shiloh and are thriving in all of the attention and love they are receiving. The fact that I was able to see class material interacting with my home life in such an amazing way is why I decided that it deserved a blog post. Pictured below is a picture of my kittens before they went to new homes. Author: Hope Mueller
